Current Projects
Current projects are focused around retrofit solutions for wheelchairs in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) where terrain is difficult to navigate outside of physical buildings. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are up to 75 million individuals in LMIC that need mobility devices, yet less than 5% of them have access to those mobility devices. Many of those mobility devices work well INSIDE of builds/homes yet have difficulty navigating local terrain. Obstacles to mobility include uneven terrain, steep terrain, longer distances. ELEOS is currently working on (6) solutions that can be adapted to existing wheelchairs to overcome these mobility obstacles. Prototypes are anticipated to be completed in Q2 of 2025. Project criteria is straightforward: Simple. Adaptable. Reliable. Repairable. Cost Effective.
In addition to these wheelchair retrofit designs, ELEOS is also working on the design of a simple prosthetic finger for those who have lost the outer (2) joints of their finger through injury caused by machinery. The project criteria are the same: Simple. Adaptable. Reliable. Repairable. Cost Effective.
(Potential) Future Projects
To be honest, there are many ideas out there that can be pursued. A current/strong passion is tied to creating micro-business that can be run by individuals that fall outside the societal workforce norm. This could include new immigrants/refugees to this country. It could include individuals coming back from war, suffering from PTSD. It could be men coming out of the prison system and looking for a way to provide for their families. Honestly, I don’t have specific expertise in these areas, but there are many folks who do. I believe there are many opportunities out there, so hopefully prayer, communication, networking, solutioning/ideating will be able to bring forth solutions.
In addition to the above, I’m starting to talk to existing missions-based organizations to determine what types of need are out there. So how do we identify these needs and connect believers with servant’s hearts to drive solutions for these organizations?
The future projects are fuzzy for me, but not for God. In His time.
